Driving Semiconductor Innovation for AI

Mr. Beh Kian Teik has been CEO of NRF since August 2022. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Research Foundation from 1 July 2020. He is responsible for reviewing, developing and implementing the national RIE strategies and governance frameworks, to grow and sustain a vibrant RIE ecosystem in Singapore.
Prior to joining NRF, Mr. Beh was Executive Vice President of the Singapore Economic Development Board. He oversaw EDB New Ventures, and worked closely with corporate entrepreneurs with the passion and drive to create early stage ventures in Singapore. He has over 20 years’ experience of promoting foreign direct investment and building industries in the manufacturing and internationally tradeable services sectors

Dr. Loi Nguyen is Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Marvell Cloud Optics Business Group. In his role, Loi is responsible for the company’s Cloud Optics product lines. Prior to Marvell, Loi was the Co-Founder of Inphi, where he served as Senior Vice President of the Optical Interconnect Business Group. Prior to Inphi, Loi held engineering roles at the Honeywell Physical Sciences Center in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Loi holds seven U.S. patents and is an author of more than 50 scientific publications. He has served on technical committees of the IEEE International Electron Devices Meetings, the IEEE Device Research Conference and the IEEE International Solid-State Devices Meetings. Loi holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Professor Aaron Thean is Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also Director of the National Research Foundation’s SHINE centre, a next-generation microelectronics research facility, and the A*Star SIMTech–NUS Joint Laboratory for Large- Area Flexible Hybrid Electronics.
A distinguished scientist and inventor in the field of microelectronics, Aaron has received multiple accolades in recognition of his research excellence, including the 2014 Compound Semiconductor Industry Innovation Award for his research group’s breakthrough work in III-V finFETs and the 2001 Gregory Stillman Semiconductor Research Award for his PhD work. In 2016, he joined NUS under the prestigious Returning Singapore Scientists scheme. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at NUS from 2019, and Dean of the College of Design and Engineering from 2022 to 2023. Known for his translational research in state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies, Aaron also holds more than 50 US patents.

Mr Terence Gan is the Executive Director of Institute of Microelectronics, Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
He is also currently Advisor, Semiconductors at EDB, a member of the Industrial Advisory Committee at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, National Technological University, a member of the Advisory Committee at the School of Engineering, Republic Polytechnic, a Board Member of the Regional Advisory Board at SEMI Southeast Asia, and a Board Member at the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association.

Previously, he was the Senior Vice President and Head of Semiconductors at EDB and worked closely with top local and global semiconductor companies to develop and execute their regional and global strategies through Singapore. Prior to this position, he was the Regional President for Europe from 2015-2020, Director for Electronics from 2013-2015, and Centre Director of EDB’s San Francisco Centre from 2007-2010.

Terence joined the EDB in 2000. He received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000.

Dr. Radha Nagarajan is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Marvell’s Optical and Cloud Connectivity Group. In this role, he manages the development of the company’s optical platform technology and products. Concurrently, he is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore. Radha joined Marvell from Inphi, where he served as the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Platforms, and prior to this, a Fellow at Infinera.
Radha has more than 245 US patents and is a Fellow of the IEEE, OSA and IET. He has been awarded the IEEE Aron Kressel Award, IPRM (Indium Phosphide and Related Materials) Award and Optica David Richardson Medal, in recognition of breakthrough work in the development and manufacturing of photonic integrated circuits in InP and Si. Radha was named to Electro Optics’ The Photonics100 which honors the industry’s most innovative people. Radha holds a B.Eng. from the National University of Singapore, M.Eng. from the University of Tokyo, and Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, all in Electrical Engineering.

Dr. Arvind Sundarrajan is the Managing Director/Head of Applied Packaging Development Center (APDC) - the Center of Excellence for Advanced Packaging for Applied Materials in Singapore. He was appointed as company director of Applied Materials Singapore Technology Pte Ltd since 2015.
He brings extensive experience and expertise to his role, where he manages all product development for Applied Materials’ Advanced Packaging Development Center, a $450M joint lab with A*STAR’s Institute of Microelectronics. He is responsible for R&D, concept & feasibility, prototype design and testing, product releases as well as customer management. He is also leading the development of partnerships with research institutes across Asia to develop new concepts and drive disruptive innovation at Applied Materials.
Dr. Sundarrajan currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) of the Department of Materials Science, National University of Singapore (NUS) and on the Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC) at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He has served as a member of Governing Board of the Singapore Synchrotron Light Source (SSLS) and NUS Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Initiative (NUSNNI). He was also a member of the Technical Review Committee for Advanced Packaging (SEMI SEA).
Dr. Sundarrajan joined Applied Materials in 1996 and has held several management roles in the last 27 years. He has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA.

Soh Yun Siah is the Technology Development Vice President at GlobalFoundries with more than 27 years of semiconductor experiences. She has served multiple senior Technology Development positions in Chartered Semiconductor Mfg and GlobalFoundries Singapore since 1996 after completing her Ph.D. degree with National University of Singapore.
Soh Yun is currently in charge of Technology Development group in GLOBALFOUNDRIES. In her role, Soh Yun oversees the technology roadmap execution and drives differentiation in semiconductor technologies. With more than two decades of R&D career in foundry industry, she has extensive experience in various CMOS platforms (low power, high performance), embedded non-volatile memories (flash, MRAM), high voltage and power technologies (BCD, GaN), Radio-Frequency technologies (RF CMOS, RFSOI, SiGe HBT), MEMS etc.
Soh Yun has published over 50 technical papers and holds over 25 granted patents

Patrick received Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, in 1992. He was with Integrated Device Technology, Inc., USA, on Silicon-CMOS semiconductor manufacturing areas in process and integration R&D. From 2004 to 2017, he was with IME/Singapore, where he was the Laboratory Director and Program Directors of Nanoelectronics and Photonics program and subsequently the Deputy Executive Director of the institute covering R&D.
At 2017, he co-founded the company as Advanced Micro Foundry Pte Ltd, being the President and now as CTO, focusing on silicon photonics manufacturing technology industrialization and commercialization, with dedicated Si Photonics Foundry Services and Solutions.
He was the recipient of the IEEE George E. Smith Award for Best Paper Published in the IEEE Electronic Device Letters in 2007. He has won both Singapore’s National Technology Award and President Technology Award for his works on nano-Electronics and Photonics in 2008 and 2010, respectively.

Dr. Yeo Swain Hong (Alfred) is a director in the Research and Development department at Stats ChipPAC, Singapore. Prior to that, he worked at AMD for about 3 years as a technical lead in advanced packaging reliability, focusing on reliability characterization in chiplet integration and advanced packaging architecture. He was also with Infineon for about 17 years, heading the backend assembly metrology, simulation, characterization, and design teams. And lastly, he has worked at GlobalFoundries for about 4 years, managing OSATs with a focus on chip-package interaction program, including wafer quality improvement plans. He received his Ph.D., M.Eng., and B.Eng. (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University Singapore. He has also been an active volunteer in IEEE EPS EPTC technical and organizing committees since 2004. He was a past general chair in 2014 and has served as a board member since 2016.

Chen Lan is an experienced semiconductor professional who currently serves as the Product Development Director for AMD's Instinct product portfolio. With over 20 years of experience, she has a strong background in product engineering, test engineering, program management, and product quality. Notably, she has built and led teams successfully in developing cutting-edge high-performance products such as Console chips for Xbox and MI300 for supercomputing and AI data centers. Additionally, Chen Lan is actively involved in promoting diversity and inclusion, as demonstrated by her initiation of the women's forum at AMD Singapore and her ongoing sponsorship of the forum. She holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from NUS, an MSC in IC Design from NTU, and recently completed an EMBA from NUS Business School.

Noam Mizrahi is Executive Vice President, Corporate Chief Technology Officer at Marvell. In this role he is responsible for the long-term technology vision and strategy for the company, overseeing the full span of technologies within the company. He has held several executive management roles at Marvell, including Vice President of Technology, focused on edge computing architectures, AI technology and future connected vehicles. Previously he led the definition and architecture of Marvell’s unique approach and implementation for scale out networked storage connectivity, as well as AI based Storage solutions. Noam also served as Marvell’s Chief Architect and technical lead for the Smart Networked Devices and Solutions Business Group, a Chief Architect for Marvell’s Enterprise Multi-Processor SoCs and led the product definition and architecture team for the Networking and Compute Business Unit.
Noam holds an MBA in Management Business Studies and a BSc in Computer and Software Engineering at the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), both cum laude. He holds multiple patents and has represented Marvell as an industry thought leader at conferences and technical events.
